In order to analysis these phenomena, I built 3 research questions as follows.

Question 1. What are the main news sources and objects in terms of newspapers' criticizing on broadcasting?

Question 2. What are the attitudes and patterns toward broadcasting described in newspapers' articles?

Question 3. What is the difference between newspapers in criticizing on broadcasting?

In order to analyze above questions, Content analysis methodology was employed to

analyze four newspaper-chosunilbo, Hangyoreh, Daehanmail, Kookminilbo-articles that covered news related to criticism on broadcasting. On the basis of the research questions above, the results can be summarized aspects as follows.

Newspapers criticize on broadcasting in making use of internal channel-journalist and columnist-rather than external channel-government officials, social movement groups, on-line services and Internet-and mainly criticize about drama, entertainment, documentary program etc. presented by broadcasting on prime time. And also newspapers use more evaluation-statement than fact-statement and policy-statement. In terms of attitude toward broadcasting, newspapers maintain negative attitude toward broadcasting.

The difference of criticism on broadcasting between newspapers reflects each newspaper's connection to power structure. In particular, Hangyoreh carries ruling party oriented voice, while Chosunilbo maintains the opposite party oriented voice.

Implications of criticism on broadcasting can be summarized in two parts.

First, newspapers criticize the broadcasting in terms of rivalry and supervision, and through the criticism between newspaper and broadcasting, both conduct the role as critic and reviewer. It is important thing that criticism on the broadcasting by newspapers carries out the role as a critic between newspapers.

Second, newspapers criticize the broadcasting not only social perspectives but also political and ideological perspectives. In other words, though same issues, newspapers sustain different reporting orientation, criticism attitude, pattern of statement, and channel of news gathering.

In considering the results above, it is concluded that newspapers criticize broadcasting in terms of social and political perspective, its impacts is reflected on newspapers and broadcastings as critic or rivalry.
