For whom does the memorial exist and what does it do for our society?
How much relationship for the world of today does it have?
Simply, is its purpose only to show?
How is the memorial different from a museum and gallery?
Is it really right to be discriminated from museum?
How much did architectures, interior designers and managers who would intend to plan and project a memorial grip spectators' behaviors and then has planned and exhibited?
Were its problems just the deficiency in memorials of finances?
Haven't a bureaucratic frantal atlact or the problem of tractitional expessions and the absence of a outdoor exhibitory space had only policy to be solvable?
Today, our surrounding livings require some new adaptation due to the transformed living patterns caused by the urbanicption and industrialization the advanced scientific technological development, the drifting value system being missed the sense of direction, and so on.
In such a reality, the memorial can be help a lot with the establishment of the people standpoint of worth.
Innumerable trials and errors were repeated for laying out the groundwork for the current interior design industry.
Today's reality is that the demands for up-graded interior designs is increasing in accordance with the improving living standards.
But the interests in the memorial lack.
In such a reality the independence memorial, which opened in 1987, is of much significance of introducing a new exhibitory method and comping out a concept in a degree of on event cheshingmemory that has ever existed.
But there still remain the subjects to be solved and the problems to be happened, differing from foreign situations, in accordance with such a fact because the memorials that are deficient in qualitive and quantative equipments and keep to the stepping exhibitory patterns has been occupied.
In this study as plans for the exhibitory space of the memorial that can play a role in our mother nation's mental subject, the aim is planning exhibitory space inducing a resting room related to public daily lives.
That is to say, there is aim in representing exhibition that can plan spreading effect accompanied with that as well as inspiring the public interest.
This study which aims at putting forward schemes for the exhibitory space of the memorial, consists of the following chapters.
Chapter 1. The purpose scope and methods of the study
Chapter 2. The concept of the memorial, summary theories, the conditions of domestic and foreign memorial tendency were reviewed.
Chapter 3. Investigation exhibitory methods suitable to a scale of space And then, growing out of two dimensional exhibiotory level to have existed, exhibitory methods which spectators can participate were presented.
Chapter 4. As mentioned above, grounding theoretical considerations, studies connected with themes and domestic and foreign case studies, the fifth pavilion among the independence memorial by meaning of struggle for in dependence was planned on a exhibitiory space.
Chapter 5. The following points were concluded for the memorial.
* The themes and structure should be clear and logical.
* Varing media and techniques should be developed to emphasize the features of the structured parts.
* The height of the ceiling and the width of the lobbies should be adequately set in consideration of the viewers convenience the displayed items and a scale of various space.
* The selection of lightening devices should properly reflect the features of the displayed items.
* The resting space should be established in consideration of visitors mental states of tension and senses of oppression.
* The indoor exhibitory representation itself with the current of themes and exhibitory methods should be investigated thoroughly so that exhibitory expressions itself of outside rooms may function.
