While organizations are facing more and more crises
due to global interaction, competition, andnew communication
technologies, the role of crisis communication is taking
central place in overall crisis management. Media has
its own rhythm and cycle. Understanding nature and trend
of negative news in the context of media content is
critical in managing crisis communication because media
has such powerful impact on public perception of crisis
as well as crisis itself. To study crisis news and its
surrounding characteristics, this paper analyzes 1500
some negative news stories from 6 major Korean media.
The result will be helpful in many senses, theoretically
and practically.
